The Christmas Cards

I believe that the Christmas cards that my mother drew every year were the most challenging and remarkable
of all of her work. The medium used for most of these was charcoal and pencil. Her first card in this series was
a sillhouette done in india ink. Her talent grew with her family and she continued to draw the cards and have them printed
for all of her friends until the last child left home. All of the indoor settings are actual rooms in the houses we
grew up in. The stair cases, hearth and the first card and 1961 scene with the pillars are all cherished and long
gone rooms in our family memories. Mom captured the magic of Christmas in our lives forever.
